John Joseph

John Joseph (aka John Coyle) gained an infatuation with music early in childhood through his father’s work as a freelance producer in the Detroit area. He made his first blippy 8-bit track in his father’s studio at age 9, played drums with bands around mid-Michigan for many years and started to DJ while attending school at Michigan State University.

John has found inspiration in the work of a broad range of artists, from Kerri Chandler and Daft Punk to Carl Craig. While growing up surrounded by classic rock, Radiohead was the group that opened his eyes to the possibilities in music.

After moving back to Detroit, John found a revived passion for classic house and techno. The spirit of the city is contagious, and it has fully infected the rhythms and sounds of his sets. He has played at many popular venues in Detroit including Temple Bar, Grenadier Club, MotorCity Wine and more. He has also put out his first release on Magnotron Records titled ‘What You Want’ as JC3.

John plays to see people move and celebrate the spirit of dance and the gift of life and love together, and that they do.
